20/26 “Christus vivit” through the eyes of youth: Meera Sayed, Palestine, (ChV, 179-201)

Two thousand years ago, in this exact place, the roots of the incarnate Word were born. We are the living stones of these roots, the sons and daughters of Palestine. We live with steadfastness,
joy and defiance, proclaiming the Gospel
of Nazareth and Galilee. Bearing the Cross of Jesus
we are rooted in the”Via Dolorosa”
in Jerusalem and bear witness to salvation
throughout the world. “You, young people,
have to bear the concerns of each other.” This is what Patriarch Michel Sabbah said to us. You have to bear your dreams
and strive for them. We grow with the older generations,
and our roots lie with the new ones. We grow through our past and live in our present to achieve a better future in our land, in our Church and in our country
so that we can be prophets in today’s world. Young people of Jesus’ land come together today to strenghten
their roots within it. Despite all the storms
that are striking our branches, our roots remain firm in the ground. They will never surrender, so that Christ may
continue to live within us.
