  11. Warren Swabb says:

The Soviet Union did have plans for a Doomsday device, it would have been a ship laden with multi megaton warheads and high level radiological material, that, if set off would have destroyed a large region around it and contaminated the entire world. Khrustav-spell check- said no. I can only imagine what the U
    .S. had in mind.

  12. “But all of this is lost if you try to keep it a Secret, why didn’t you tell the World!?”

  13. 2018 and I've just heard of a putin bomb. Maybe satire has its consequences.

  14. Greg Mattson says:

the really scary thing is that the russians built such a device in the 1980s – they called it dead hand. And they did not tell the world, they kept it a closely guarded secret. In our turn we had delegation, which let lower echelon commanders launch nuclear weapons if washington was assumed destroyed.

from all current intelligence reports, the dead hand system is still functioning.

  15. Jgrimwald says:

Was Dr. Strangelove a Nazi scientist brought over on Operation Paperclip?

One of the best comedy/drama movie ever and still relevant today.

  18. It would be fun to be an "apocalypse planner" for the rand corp or some similar entity. The irony of such oxymoronic work would keep one giggling at all times…

  19. Frank Díaz says:

Dr. Strangelove, do we have anything like that in the works?
    A moment please, Mr. President.

  20. Tahir Rana says:

  21. The USA has thousands of these bombs all triggered to launch if the U.S. Dollar is abandoned.

  22. Troy Ortega says:

The arms race, the space race, and the peace race. And a doomsday gap. Love it. Great name jokes all through the film too- General Jack D. Ripper, Group Captain Mandrake, President Muffley, Dr. Strangelove, General Turgidson, and of course we can't forget Col. Bat Guano. Lol. Discovered this almost 30 yrs ago and have loved it ever since. A great funny film with a serious message

  23. exorientelux says:

Doomsday machine = industrial miilitary complex in the USA

  24. Personally, I have been impressed with the way the motion picture, "Dr. Strangelove," presented the total insanity of the Cold War and about the price of having nuclear weapons in this world. Every nation should be ashamed to have such weapons even today and the movie should also be a lesson for humanity as well.

  25. The Russian ambassador's voice sounds uncannily like that of the later James Earl Jones.

  26. David Hill says:

I guess Bland corporation is like the actual Rand corporation .

  27. klavss76 says:

A kraut by another name, huh?

  28. Ryan G. says:

    Peace Race.
    Amazing.

  29. Peter Sellers was an absolute genius. Look at the little charge of excitement (former?) Nazi Dr. Strangelove gets when saying the word "will" at 1:29. Simply amazing.

  30. PC Studios says:

    Where was the bomb?

  31. ShadoeFax says:
