PROTESTERS GATHERED OUTSIDE THE SUPREME COURT. THE CASES WILL DETERMINE IF IT CONTINUES TO BELOW GOING UNDER EXISTING FEDERAL LAW TO FIRE AN EMPLOYEE BASED ON SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR GENDER IDENTITY. AS JOHN DELANO REPORTS, HOW IT IMPACTS GAY OR TRANSGENDER PEOPLE IN THIS AREA DEPENDS ON WHERE THEY LIFE. I DON’T THINK IT IS IMPORTANCE COULD BE OVER STATD RIGHT NOW. IT IS A PIVOTAL MOMENT OF OUR LIVES. THE FEDERAL CIVIL RIGHTS ACT ALREADY PROHIBITS DISCRIMINATION ON THE BASIS OF SEX. THE ISSUE IS WHETHER OR NOT SEX ALSO INCLUDES SEXUAL ORIENTATION, GENDER IDENTITY OR GENDER EXPRESSION. THAT IS A DISCUSSION RIGHT NOW. UNLESS A STATE OR LOCAL LAW SAYS OTHERWISE, EMPLOYERS MAY FIRE OR REFUSE TO HIRE AND LANDLORDS MAY DENY PUBLIC ACCOMMODATIONS SOLELY BECAUSE OF A PERSON’S SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR GENDER IDENTITY OR EXPRESSION. THAT HAPPENS A LOT SAY CIVIL RIGHTS ADVOCATES. WE HAVE CALLED EMPLOYERS AND ASKED THEM WOULD THEY HIRE TRANSGENDER PEOPLE AND WE HAVE GOTTEN NO’S. SO FAR THE STATE LEGISLATOR HAS NOT PASSED LAWS. THE U.S. SENATE HAS NOT ACTED. WHICH IS WHY SOME WANT THE SUPREME COURT TO STEP IN. BUT MUNICIPALITIES LIKE THE CITY OF PITTSBURGH HAVE ALREADY ENACTED THEIR OWN BILLS OUT LAWING DISCRIMINATION IF. ANY OF THAT IS BASED ON THEIR SEX, THEIR SEXUAL ORIENTATION, THEIR GENDER IDENTITY OR HOW THEY EXPRESS THEIR GENDER. THAT IS ILLEGAL IN THE CITY OF PITTSBURGH. NOW THE SUPREME COURT

  1. Dylan Murphy says:

As an employer you should be free to hire or fire anyone for any reason regardless of whether it’s “discriminatory”. It’s a big problem when so many believe they have a “right” to encroach upon our freedoms.

  2. Oswald Cobblepot says:

I thought we all had equal rights already under the law. It's almost like some "people" want more rights than others. But then that would make them privileges…. Hmmmmm🤔
