THE THING IS, IF SOMEONE TOUCHES YOU ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE FEMALE, I ADVOCATE IN THAT INSTANCE ESPECIALLY IF YOU DIDN’T KNOW THEY WERE COMING YOU DON’T KNOW THEM OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT YOU RESPOND WITH THAT PALM STRIKE OR WHATEVER IS AVAILABLE TO YOU AT THAT TIME. IF I GRAB YOU, IT IS ONLY A MOMENT IN TIME OR A FEW SECONDS WHERE I AM GOING TO BE PULLING YOU AND PICK YOU UP AND TAKE YOU SOMEPLACE ELSE HE WILL SOME SHE WILL THAT IS MY MOMENT OF OPPORTUNITY. YOU COULD JUST CAN STAND THERE. HAVE YOUR SPOUSE OR FRIEND STAND THERE AND PRACTICE SWINGING YOUR ARM IN THE AIR FROM THE RIGHT OR LEFT. ANY WAY YOU HAVE YOUR HANDS CAN BE A WAY TO HIT SOMEBODY. THOSE OF US THAT HAVE KIDS HOW MANY TIMES HAVE OUR KIDS ACCIDENTALLY HEAD BUTTED US, KNEED US AND ALMOST PUT US ON THE FLOOR BY DENT. OR RUN INTO A COFFEE TABLE. DAMAGE MATTERS FOR GIVING YOU TIME TO DO WHAT YOU NEED TO DO. SO THESE ARE STILL JUST DRILLS IT IS NOT A FULL ON SCENARIO TRAINING WHICH IS SOMETHING THAT IS IMPORTANT. YOU NEED TO GET IT FROM A QUALIFIED INSTRUCTOR. THESE THINGS YOU CAN STAND IN THE MIRROR AND WORK ON DEESCALATION AND HAVE SOMEONE HOLD A PILLOW TO HIT IN THE AIR TOE FEEL THE IMPACT WHENEVER YOU HIT SOMETHING. JUST DOING IT IN THE AIR IS NOT ENOUGH. HITTING SOMETHING YOU KNOW HOW YOUR HAND IS WILL BE REALLY GOOD. Shelby: THIS IS GREAT INFORMATION.
